Carenado has been well known to be the best in providing quality add-ons and their latest work is this TBM In this review, we'll take a look at many aspects of the aircraft, which will hopefully give you a better understanding of this new product. Let's begin! In the early s, the Mooney Airplane Company of Kerrville, Texas designed a six-seat pressurised light aircraft powered by a single hp piston engine, the Mooneywhich made its maiden flight on 7 April Mooney was purchased by French owners inwhich resulted in talks between Mooney and the French company Socata to build a turboprop derivative of the The result of these discussions was the TBMwhich was much heavier than the with more than twice the power, with a joint venture, TBM International, being set up in June between Mooney and Socata's parent company Aerospatiale to design and build the new aircraft.

The TBM is a single engine, turboprop powered, six to seven seat low-wing monoplane of mainly aluminium and steel construction, but with the tail surfaces built of Nomex honeycomb. Carenado definitely did well with the add-on, and in more than one single aspect.

The textures are of high quality, the model is highly detailed, and more importantly, the flying dynamics seem believable. We'll cover more of this as we progress into the review. The exterior may not be the first thing you see when you load the simulator apart from the preview panebut is definitely what plenty of flight simmers look for.

Developers do not make quality aircraft just because their work has good systems, and accurate dynamics, but lack the visual quality and feel. As such, I would like to compliment Carenado for making a high quality exterior, with some animations, and extremely high quality textures, which are indeed in high definition.

You would notice later on that I'll split the topics I have to say for each section into separate paragraphs for your easy reading. However, I would like to show you a few screen shots now:.

Firstly, the model. The model is very detailed, and if you look at the development shots of the model without the textures, you'll be blown away by the detail put into the model, at least on the exterior. You'll find the details being given a lot of attention, and it is this attention to detail that truly gives this add-on a good impression not only to me, but to perhaps anyone and everyone that sees it.

I do think that perhaps not everyone would agree with this point, so if you have a differing opinion, please share it in the comments below, so that we can discuss more on it.

After all, a review is something that gives the buyer a more informed choice, so exploiting some of the flaws is all right in my opinion. There is no default configuration for this I am exploring the new FS ! In content manager, there are lots of packages installed.

In this case the altitude may be entered manually. Then I get a fuel imbalance warning. And it effects the aircraft stability when hand flying The TBM automatically switches with fuel sector set on Auto tanks from one side to the other every 10 minutes.

This assumes that you are not at max power beyond liftoff. It helps to make sure you have equal amounts of fuel in each wing prior to startup.

I notice the auto fuel does seem to work however it doesn't keep the quantities in mind. During climb I use much more fuel and the system swtiches to the other tank somewhat in the beginning of cruise. From that point on I have a slight inbalance because at cruise I use less fuel so the second tank is used less before it switches back to the first tank.

It switches every 1min 15s on the ground and changes based on what the aircraft is doing, In the cruise it goes upto switching every 10 minutes. You are right the switch is purely based on time, The time length decided on what the aircraft is doing, higher GPH will shorten the time to switch, from what i read it either 1m 15s or 10m.

If one tank is lower than the other for whatever reason then you can force an early switch using the Switch bp button or switching to manual fuel selection until the imbalance has gone, don't forget to switch back to Auto. I have downloaded the 2. I absolutely love this aircraft and since downloading have rarely flown anything else I've sent a bug report to Carenado and was told my issues would be considered in a future release, but there was no reply on expected date of an updated release.

Here were my main issues. Master Caution light would come on everytime you advanced the power lever, then returned it at or near idle. This was driving me crazy during taxing and landings. Master Caution still seems to work for all other things requiring a master caution. I can't seem to find the code for this so if anybody knows where it's at I would much appreciate it.

I also can't find a gauge file for that so I'm not sure if it's part of the model or the. AIR file or something, again, any help would be appreciated. That's the things I'm looking for. Now I don't have to set those options every time I start a new flight. So if you're wanting to set any of the MFD options to defaults you prefer, I'd glad to help. Thanks in advance.

I forgot my last issue: 4. The cabin pressurization doesn't seem to be able to keep up with the climb of the aircraft. I mostly fly IFR flights so I'm stair stepped up to my cruise altitude, so as soon as I'm advised by ATC to ascend above 15, ft, I adjust the cabin pressurization to the altitude I've been assigned. Usually before I reach said altitude, the master caution comes on for cabin pressurization.

So I'm looking for some way to adjust the speed with which the pressurization increases to be able to keep up with the climb rate of the TBM. And the speed getting too high because of not reaching the climb rate. Thing like that can break the engine, or break propeller blades. Flaps set incorrectly for takeoff for example. But could be many other things wrong with the take-off configuration.

Again something you would need to read the manual for. Especially the part about Before-takeoff-checklists. I would think the fix would be to switch pressurization on earlier in the flight. When exactly I don't know, but the manual will probably explain.

You said that Master Caution comes on when adding thrust. Could it be that at those moments when you add thrust you start climbing as well?

Because in that case the MC warning could be because of the climbing.

Essay on my favourite dish pizza

I'm thinking the MC warning when climbing could be because you don't have the pressurization system on and you are starting a climb. Thank you for your reply. It should then adjust the pitch to maintain the climb at kts, but instead it immediately drops the nose to level or even a few degrees negative.Log in with your e-mail address will no longer be a valid authentication method in the future.

Note that I have flown dozens of routes in this aircraft, and this is the first time this has happened to me.

I decided to try using the heading indicator reset hotkey, and suddenly the aircraft started following the correct heading. You need to be a member in order to leave a comment.
